Cornhole Boards

Which Cornhole Boards should I buy?

Professional Quality Cornhole boards as seen on tv or during major cornhole tournaments are readily available by a large number of cornhole board builders throughout the United States.  So, how do you choose which boards to buy for yourself, whether playing cornhole in the backyard, or setting up for a tailgate party, or wanting to start your own league?!

First of all, let's talk about board size.  Official cornhole boards used at regulated tournaments are 2ft wide by 4ft long with a 6" hole cut from 9" down from the top of the board.  The back playing surface of the board should stand 12" high off the ground, while the front of the board should be between 3 and 4 inches off the ground.  While that is the standard for professional cornhole, you will also find tailgate size boards and other variations on sizes to make traveling with boards to fun social events much easier.

Obviously for backyard fun, tailgating, or just all around having a good time, any boards will do!  However, if you are a serious cornhole player or looking to become one, then you will want to regularly practice and throw on professional quality boards.

Professional cornhole boards are generally made out of 5/8" baltic birch and have no bounce when the bags land on the middle of the playing surface.  Some boards manufacturers will include a brace under the middle section of the landing area to ensure bags do not bounce.  That is a key component to a professional style boards.  Also, they are finished off with a layer of poly that enables bags to slide along the surface when thrown, but not so slippery that the bags slide back down the front of the board after landing.

Another component to look out for is to make sure the boards you buy do not have staples or any nails on the top playing surface.  This will ruin your brand new cornhole bags that you just purchased by snagging or tearing the material.  Professional quality cornhole boards will never have metal going through the top of the playing surface.  That is a sure sign that those boards are not intended for pro play.

We sell the best boards on the market, meeting the regulated specifications set by all professional cornhole organizations.   These boards are the exact same boards you will see in use on ESPN during professional cornhole tournaments being televised across the nation.
