How to Choose the Right Cornhole Boards

How often you play matters most. For casual weekend games, a lighter backyard set is plenty. If you practice several nights a week or play in a league, a 3/4" Baltic birch top is worth it for a quieter landing and a more consistent slide.

Weight tells you a lot. As a rough guide, backyard boards run about 25 lb per board, tournament boards about 30–32 lb, Pro Solution Lite about 38 lb and Pro Solution Elite about 45 lb. Heavier boards stay planted and bounce less, but they take more effort to carry.

Where you play counts too. Wood boards play best when they're stored indoors. If your boards will live by the pool or on the patio, go with all-weather boards.

Cornhole Board FAQs

What size are regulation cornhole boards?
Regulation boards are 24" x 48" with a 6" hole centered 9" from the top edge. The back of the board stands 12" high.

How far apart should cornhole boards be?
For regulation play, the front edges of the boards are 27 feet apart. For kids or casual games, move the boards closer.

Which boards should I buy for ACL play?
Start with our ACL Comp boards, and check your league's current equipment rules before buying for sanctioned events.

How do I stop my boards from bouncing?
Heavier boards with more bracing bounce less. On any surface, PUCS stabilizers help keep boards locked in place.
